stardustcboy's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who's side are YOU on?

aaah, back from the 3-day weekend.

downside - i want the weekend to go on longer.

upside - the week is shorter.

coming back from a quiet cabin in the woods where the stars shine bright enough to illuminate the profound embrace of the spiral arm of the milky way it is difficult to come back and sift through the latest in horrors in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

it seems to be buzzing on everyone's lips and now all the politicians and leaders are now maneuvering into bullshit sparring over who should've done what and when, and why it wasn't done and who's fault it was.

can we just drop this bullshit? please?

okay, i don't know if anyone out there is aware of this but...

HURRICANE KATRINA WAS A NATURAL DISASTER OF SUCH MAGNITUDE THAT NO AMOUNT OF PREPARATION WOULD HAVE SAVED, SPARED, OR LESSENED THE HUMAN TRAGEDY AND RUIN.

just like a tornado, or a volcanic eruption, or an earthquake or a tsunami. WE ARE COWED INTO ABJECT HUMILITY IN THE RAW FURY OF OUR DEAR MOTHER NATURE.

we must always, ALWAYS be aware of our place here. we are not the keepers of this here lil planet, we are but its children. we know nothing of its life or its age or the systems that move across its ancient features.

this is not the end of the world as we know it. it is merely a part of the system, the culmination of several environmental factors, currents, winds - all culminating in a massive storm system.

there is no one to blame. there is nothing we could have done. there is no rewinding time.

death comes with devastation.

that in no way means that i do not care for those who are lost, or who have lost. on the contrary, my heart aches for those in New Orleans as much as it ached for those in the wake of the devastating tsunami a few months ago, or the earthquake in turkey a few years ago...

the GREATEST tragedy to me, is that we as human beings, as brothers and sisters cannot unite ourselves in times of need. that we cannot come together to aid ourselves and others when the raw power of the winds and the sea are unleashed.

we look to our "leaders" for aid. we look to our government to save us...

...and we rot. WE ROT.

because it is becoming ABUNDANTLY clear to me in the past year that our "leaders" care nothing for the citizens, the people, the life-blood of our fair nation. they care only for political position and power and money...they care only for PR photo-ops and bipartisan retoric...

they want us to falter. they WANT US DIVIDED. because we cannot stand against the LOOMING, ever GROWING tyranny in the world.

this is chaos. this is the universe undiluted, this is nature...not only of the world around us...but within OURSELVES.

what makes us unique, what makes us different, and what (in the end) will save our puny little asses is that we are compassionate, loving, and communal creatures. that when we all unite towards a common good there is nothing that can stand in our way. we have built cities of brick and stone stretching over miles and miles of once uninhabitable land. dug ditches and canals and erected monolithic stone edifices as testimony to our sheer will as humans.

let us STOP looking to our "leaders" for support and guidance.

let us STOP looking at the talking-heads as messiahs and saviors.

no man will save us from ourselves. we must come together for our future, for the future of our children and the future of all mankind. unite as one against the suffering and destruction and chaos THAT IS NATURAL TO THE UNIVERSE IN WHICH WE LIVE.

we will never DEFEAT it, we will never be ABOVE it. we must always strive to ADAPT to it. to help each other THROUGH it.

one man against a flood is nothing. but one million people can turn the tide. one bucket makes nary a dent, but a million buckets moving as one can shift a sea.

if the situation in New Orleans terrifies you then GOOD. you should be. because THAT IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN DEVASTATION AND CHAOS COME TO TOWN.

survival.

it supercedes all ideas of civilization and society.

but what has helped we as humans to survive is our ability to come together in communities. to help each other.

we must continue this. we must band together in times of crisis and aid our fellow brothers and sisters.

fuck waiting for the government to do something. they're fuck-offs. they'll sit and blather all day about why or why not to send troops in, or how many or who or what...

meanwhile people die, people starve.

fuck them. find a fucking boat and get out there. find people. FIGHT. fight for mankind. fight for your brothers and sisters. yes, you might die. yes, it is dangerous because there are crazy people out there.

so?

so you're just going to rot in a staduim? join the waiting dead?

fuck that noise.

fuck bush, fuck the republicans, fuck the democrats, fuck politics...that shit doesn't matter in the wake of devastation.

look out for each other, be cool, stop being afraid of everything.

bush and asshole "leaders" around the world like that you're afraid. makes you easy to manipulate, easy to fool, and easy to herd to the slaughter.

as mark driver said...

"there are only two types of people in this world...those that demand life, and those that demand control. who's side are you on?"

fuck the bozos...
