...a nice relaxing weekend...

GooooOooD MoRNiNg!

happy monday to all my dear cyber-friends! i hope your respective weekends went well out there.

the weekend was nice and sunny for the majority, fitting that as soon as monday comes the clouds once again fill the sky.

didn't do much over the weekend which is nice...save for ALL of our laundry and some much needed house-cleaning. i think i'm going to make an early new years resolution to spruce my apartment up a bit. we've got sort of a hodge-podge of collected furniture that has been handed down to both JeLLy and i over the years. most of it was inherited from various room mates in our pasts and has come together in our current living environment in a motley sort of way. that being said, i'd like to replace some of it with new items, shelving systems and the like, so that organization of small effects can be a bit more on the efficient side. i'd also like to paint and get new carpets, this place is gettin' a little worn from the passage of time; and i think it's high time i do some serious renovation. so, for the next year i'm going to focus my energies, financial and physical, to making our apartment pretty. booYaH!

oh yeah, and i shaved my head...except for a single strip of hair down the center of my head which i re-dyed red. you heard me right kiddies, i've got a bright red mohawk now. ;-)

i also saw "The Grudge" with JeLLy on saturday. it's a pretty good movie despite it's PG-13 rating (always be leery of horror films with a PG-13 rating - they'll suck 90% of the time). it had some good scare moments, and the directing was good overall. performances by the actors were strong in some cases and flat in others, but not so bad as to hamper the narrative or the tension built by the story. sara michelle gellar is all right in her role, though i would probably have chosen someone else. she's still adaquate enough. there's rumors that the original version was rated "R" but the marketing and biz people decided they'd lose a large portion of the "Buffy" demographic if it retained that rating, so in their infinite wisdom they down-rated it to "PG-13"; and the end result, though still effective, has a watered-down flavor...like Coors as opposed to guinness or bass. you know the robustness could be there, but it just isn't. final rating: 7.8 out of 10 (worth seeing in the theatre if you have to, but could be suitably viewed and enjoyed on DvD - not to mention the DvD may be the "R" rated version).

so that's about it for me. this weekend is looking to be pretty damn good fun. we're goin' out for drinks friday with JeLLy's co-workers to celebrate her last day, then we'll hit up our friends at their Pumpkin-Carving Party. Saturday...plans still in the air...and Sunday is the Trashy Lingerie Costume Ball at the Key Club starring the one, the only...MAISUMI MAX (and the trashy girls). should be damn fun! anyhoo, i'm gonna' mosey on off to work. i may be back on a bit later to write some more stuff. much love to everyone! until then...

my heart is full
