stardustcboy's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...reality...illusion...dreaming...waking...a mind on the precipice of life and shadow...

you MUST read this.

i followed the link from ms. redsirenbody's favorite diaries...

now...i must say now, that i am an avid and loyal fan of H.P. Lovecraft. there's a quote that i SO wish to put here, but i can't for the life of me find it...i'll paraphrase, but i doubt i will do it justice...

"the one salvation of the human mind, i think, is our ignorance...we live amidst seas of blackest infinity and it was not meant that we travel too far..."

or something like that...he put it so much eloquently.

this nate boxley...i cannot tell if it is real...but it dances the line between madness and brilliance. in the face of the unknowable and undefinable our sanity breaks...there are things that are beyond our mortal comprehension...does that make it less real? or are we merely gazing beyond the boundaries of infinity?

the entries are ripe with Lovecraftian flavor...madness...darkness...mystery...paranoia...

but i cannot tell if it is merely a fiction...or if it is truly experiential...

no matter...i am RIVETED...i gazed upon the latest entry, and then found myself reading every single one from the beginning. i just finished it...

now what? i ask myself...and like redsiren...i ask, who's going to die?

the narrative, the character...is so reminiscent of a Lovecraft character...the narration...the explanation of events...the fragments...the sense of something supernatural...the doubt in ones own senses...ones own perception.

this is true horror.

if it is real, and moreover, if nate boxley is real...then there is nothing more for me to say. i can only observe and read the slipping of another human being into the vast, yawning abyss of nightmarish madness and delusion in the face of an altogether dark, nightmarish, and unrelenting reality. i can only read on in rapt fascination.

there are things, mysteries, moments greater than our minds can correlate. whether these moments be tragic and traumatic, horrifying and indescribable...we cope the best we can...and sometimes that coping is the fracturing of our mind, our perception...and thus...our reality into fragments of dreaming and waking on the knife edge of twilight.

if however, nate boxley is fictional and in the vein of great Lovecraftian fiction, then it is the most ingenious and most well executed of its ilk.

there is however, as you other Lovecraft fans my know, the greater and more terrifying truth...

...that all of it is real...

..and the crawling chaos, Nyarlathotep, in the outer gulfs accompanied by the mad pipers, is truly a presence in our universe...

or as Lovecraft himself once wrote...

"That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die..."

"In the sunken city of R'lyeh, dead Cthulu lies dreaming..."

am i believer? well, there are things both in heaven and on earth, that are unheard of in our philosophy. but madness exists...

nate boxley, if you indeed are real, and what you write is real...

well...

keep writing...it is a memento...a testament...a monolith to that part of you which is still here...

if it is fiction...nate boxley...or whoever you REALLY are...

you're a fucking genius...keep writing...

i am your loyal fan.
