...Final conclusion on the nature of humankind: LAZY...

i was thinking about an earlier entry...the one on the nature of humanity...

good or evil?

that was the question. i hypothesized that we were both at the same time, but now i'm coming to realize something...

that humans are neither inherently good, nor inherently evil...

we're inherently LAZY. ;-P

you see...it's easier to blame others and not take responsibility for your actions...it's easier to steal than it is to work...it's easier to cast someone aside than it is to accept them into your life...it's easier to stay the same than it is to get up and change...it's easier to kill someone than it is to forgive...

we tend to take the easy routes more often than the hard ones. our society promotes it too. the convenience, the quick fix, the instant gratification.

what's in it for me?

how does this benefit me?

how will this make me feel better?

selfish really...and sad...

how is mankind going to live on when we all act so selfishly?

people ask..."are we going to annihilate ourselves?"

my answer..."from the looks of it...yes."

but the earth will go on and our legacy will fade, and one day millions of years from now the cockroaches will reign...and marvel at the decayed and crumbling testimonies of our time...

that is unless we all can let go of our selfish desires and work together as a team...

oh...

but that's too hard. that means i might have to change...that means YOU might have to change...that means WE ALL will have to change.

and there's just no money in it. corporations can't get any profits from a healthy hard-working, self-sufficient society...no...they NEED us to be sick...they NEED us to consume...otherwise...the economy would collapse and the governments would fall and the whole of mankind would implode in on itself...

or would it?

perhaps there would be a small group of people who would have the right idea? who knows?

what would we do if all of society as we no it was completely abolished? there would be a period of anarchy...death, slaughter, sickness, etc.

but somewhere along the way the POSITIVE aspects of the human spirit would prevail...somewhere...

it's an evolution.

towards what end?...i can only imagine.

maybe to our original source? children of the stars...to dance among the cosmos? who knows...

but somethings got to change...which means...something has to break...something has to burn...

change is hard...even if it is for the better...
